On a sheet of paper, write down all the names of the people in your group and score them in each of the following categories.

A-Brainstorming: Did they take part in picking a disease to research?

B-Discussion: Did they help with discussions about the material?

C-Online Research: Did they contribute to the project?

D-PowerPoint: Did they help put together/research for the powerpoint?

Howdy everyone!

I have put in a work order so that we can get the computers fixed. Until then, just hold tight and be patient. Otherwise, here is what we are doing today!

Classwork:
  • Warm-up: First 10 minutes of class-find an article on-line that has something to do with geography and tell me how it is important to us now. You and a partner will research this and present this to the class. This is part of class participation points.
  • Students are then put into groups that Ms. Delano has selected.
  • PowerPoint guideline worksheets are passed out and read over by the class. These are the requirements that you will be asked to complete for your project and presentation that is due this week.
  • PowerPoint rubrics will be handed out and discussed. It is important that you know just what I expect of your group.
  • I will give groups 15-20 minutes at the end of class to start researching their projects.

Due at the end of the period:

  • Before you leave class you need to tell me what topic your group will be researching.

Homework:

  • If you have not already turned in the yellow packet of rules for my class, you have until Wednesday, September 24th.

Hey everyone,

The blogger site was down yesterday, so I did not get a chance to post. Here is what we did in class yesterday.

Beginning of class:
  • Took 10-15 minutes to see who needed a password and whose computer was working. If you need a password, then I can send you down to see Mrs. Loftis in the office.
  • Spent the remainder of the class going over a powerpoint lesson on "Fighting Cholera with Maps". It was a lesson on how can also be used to show the migration of disease as well as people.

End of class:

  • Finished up lesson and filled out questions worksheet in response to the lesson.

Due at the end of the period:

  • Questions worksheet from lesson presentation.

Homework:

  • If you have not turned in your yellow packet of rules of this class, you have until Wednesday, September 24th.

Happy Friday!!!

Hello there! Good luck to the boys Varsity Football team tonight in their match-up against san Pasqual Academy! Following is what we did today, what was due today, and what is for homework.

Today's lesson:
Today we will go over rules and guidelines for my class in a short powerpoint presentation. Students will then receive a handout that they are to share will their parents, both are to sign it, and it is to be returned to Ms. Delano no later than Wednesday, September 24th.

We will then go over an intro to the geography to Europe (Part II) in another powerpoint presentation, while answering questions to a worksheet.

Due today at the end of the period:
1. "Inconventient Truth" worksheet.
2. Geography of Europe (Part II) worksheet

Homework:
1. Get Syllabus packet (yellow packet) signed by a parent/guardian and turned in no later than Wednesday, September 24th!
